Special Resolution:

As notified in the Notice of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) dated 14 November 2024, at the AGM (to be held on Thursday 5 December 2024 at 5.45pm) a special resolution will be proposed in the following form:

The members resolve:

1. that the whole of the current Rules of Association of Communications and Media Law Association Incorporated be rescinded; and
2. that the proposed amended Rules of Association of Communications and Media Law Association Incorporated (to be circulated to members in advance of the Annual General Meeting) be adopted as the Rules of the Association.

The special resolution proposes the adoption of changes to CAMLA’s Rules of Association that have been approved by CAMLA’s Committee of Management. The amendments:

• Update the Rules to bring them into line with the Associations Incorporation Act 2009 (NSW);
• Modernise the Rules including allowing electronic communications and other technological means to hold meetings and vote;
• Update voting rights to give corporate members 5 votes (see rule 31); and
• Improve the readability of the Rules generally.
