Media Now! seminar

March 29, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

It?s often said that the media spends too much time talking about itself, but for once it may be justified in doing so. Media ownership regulation changes, new competitors challenging old business models, renewed talk of merging the public broadcasters and the sight of Shane Warne terrorising the people of Africa combine to make it the most exciting time to be talking about media.

Join a stellar panel of media experts to discuss the commercial and regulatory challenges and opportunities facing media today. Will ownership changes pass the Australian Parliament and what will happen if they do? Are current business models sustainable or how will they evolve? What?s the future for the local and international production sectors and how should they be funded? These are just some of the issues that will be explored at this timely seminar.

The panel includes:

Michelle Guthrie (in-coming CEO, ABC, MD, Agencies APAC Google, ex-MD Providence Equity, ex-CEO Star TV)
David Haslingden (CEO, RACAT Group, Director Ardent Leisure, ex-Chairman Network Nine, ex-COO Fox Networks Group)
Deanne Weir (Founder, WeirAnderson, Deputy Chair Screen Australia, Chair of Hoodlum and Ai- Media, ex Group Director Corporate Development, Austar Entertainment)

Moderated by Bruce Meagher, Director of Corporate Affairs, Foxtel
