THIS SEMINAR HAS SOLD OUT. WAITING LIST ONLY. Recent Developments in Privacy Law

September 6, 2011 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

As privacy continues to dominate news headlines, change is afoot for privacy law in Australia, not least in relation to how we handle data breach in future, and the possibility of a statutory right to privacy. Among the Australian Law Reform Commission?s 295 recommendations for change to the Privacy Act are increased powers for the Privacy Commissioner. The Senate Finance and Public Administration Legislation Committee has also recently released the first part of its report on its inquiry into privacy legislation giving effect to a new set of Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Learn about the impact these and other changes may have on the way you handle privacy in the course of your work.
